(More customer reviews)The Original Trilogy Collection X-wing is a nice toy.Although it is not as realistic looking as the new Red Leader X-wing, this is a fun toy to play with.You can relive your childhood or introduce your own kids to the fantastic Star Wars world.It is pretty light and easy for small hands to hold.
The ship comes with decals already applied.All you have to do is attach the laser canons.I was pleasantly surprised when I found the canons were all straight, unlike the canons in the Red Leader X-wing.The plastic Hasbro used seems to be a bit stiffer than the usual rubbery stuff they use for canons.
The paint job on the ship is quite nice.The engine intakes are painted brown, which looks good.There are also a few blackened areas to make the ship look like it's been through battle.Thankfully, this effect isn't overdone like it has been in some X-wings of the past.
Just press R2's head to lock the wings into attack position and you're ready for battle!Or pull the blue release button to return the wings to the closed position for cruising and landing.
The only bummer is that the ship doesn't make sounds like the original X-wing from the 70's did.Even though the sound was a bit cheesy, it was still neat.
If you want a scale replica of an X-wing, get the Red Leader X-wing.If you want a fun toy, get this Original Trilogy Collection X-wing.Or just get both to enjoy your own adventures or recreate all the great battles from Star Wars!
