(More customer reviews)After the disappointing initial Star Wars 12" Collector Series Darth Vader figure, I was thrilled to see Kenner revisit the central Star Wars character with a new 12" scale offering that succeeded where the first one failed.
Pros - He's tall; at least head and shoulders taller than the average 12" figure. Darth Vader is a towering figure, so it's only fitting that this figure towers over the rest of the figures. It's also a very detailed and articulated figure. Instead of those goofy mittens, he has two well-rendered hands, his head is the right size (and the removable helmet is a nice touch), his costume is detailed, as is his lightsaber. If that weren't enough (and honestly, they had me with the taller size), he talks! Not only does he recite some of the more memorable phrases from the films, there's a separate button for lightsaber sounds. So cool!
Cons - Are you kidding me? Just look at this thing! What more could you want in a Darth Vader figure? Actually, I would have preferred some of his more sinister phrases from The Empire Strikes Back to the dying Anakin phrases, but that's an extremely minor complaint.
This is the crown jewel of Kenner's `90s era 12" Star Wars series, and is by far my favorite Star Wars large figure. Short of the high-end Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars Deluxe 12 Inch Action Figure Darth Vader, this is the best Vader figure you're likely to find.
