(More customer reviews)POSSIBLE CONS:
1. There's not a lot of "action" to it.There's a small, clumsy trap door and the cell gates open and close.Other than that, there's not much to appeal to kids who are looking for lots of bells & whistles.
2. It's not as modular as some other Playmobil sets. You can't really arrange it any way other than shown and it doesn't attach well to other playsets.
3. Unlike a real stadium, the seating only goes around a quarter of the circle, so three quarters of the outer wall has no play interest- it simply encloses the space.
PROS:
1. It's gorgeously crafted with cute little Roman god statues actually holding horns and scrolls. There are little torches and chains which hang on the outside of the main gate (you can't see them in the photo here). And the imperial box with its flaming torches is a great dramatic space for play or diorama building.
2. The included figures will be fun for kids- a lion, a tiger, a chariot, gladiators in different colors and individualized armors.
3. For adults looking for diorama building, the playset works with Star Wars, Papo, and Schleich figures, or other 3 to 4 inch figures. You can leave off the cartoony stickers, add a little paint and you've got a fascist parade ground for your WWII soldiers, a fantasy temple for some Papo conquistadors, or (in my case) Jabba's box from the Phantom Menace.
